In this class, you’ll move beyond beginner tools and workflows and dive into advanced 3D modeling using TinkerCAD, Blender, and Fusion360 - learning how to create more complex, organic, and functional designs. We’ll explore design techniques for strength, precision, and aesthetics, as well as how to prepare models specifically for different printing technologies. You’ll also gain hands-on experience with resin 3D printing, including how resin printers work, how they differ from filament (FDM) printers, and how to safely handle, clean, and post-process resin prints for high-detail results. A major focus of this course is developing a deeper understanding of the machines themselves — from calibration and troubleshooting to material selection, print optimization, and workflow efficiency. You’ll learn how to diagnose common print failures, fine-tune settings for better quality, and choose the right printer and material for different projects. We'll also dive into a variety of post-processing techniques from sanding and painting to the unique process of electroplating.
