About the event

🌀 Blender: 3D Modeling Workshop for Creatives

Create organic, artistic, and expressive 3D models

Class Description

Ready to move beyond basic shapes and start creating truly custom designs?

This full day Blender workshop is designed for makers who want to explore the artistic side of 3D modeling. Blender is a powerful (and free) tool used for everything from animation to game design, but it’s also an incredible tool for creating organic, detailed models for 3D printing.

In this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to sculpt, modify, and design unique objects that go far beyond what’s possible in beginner software.

Whether you want to design figurines, custom shapes, artistic planters, or experimental forms, this class will give you the tools to bring your ideas to life.

What You’ll Learn

Foundations + Sculpting

  • Navigating Blender’s interface (without getting overwhelmed)

  • Understanding meshes, vertices, edges, and faces

  • Basic modeling techniques (move, scale, extrude)

  • Introduction to sculpting tools for organic shapes

  • Creating your first custom model

Who This Is For

  • Beginners eager to learn 3D modeling

  • Creatives, artists, and hobbyists

  • Anyone interested in figurines, sculptures, or organic design

  • People who want more freedom in what they create

What You’ll Leave With

  • A fully custom 3D model (or multiple)

  • Confidence navigating Blender

  • The ability to turn artistic ideas into printable objects

Come Back for Part 2: Refinement + 3D Printing Prep

  • Modifiers (subdivision, mirror, solidify)

  • Cleaning up models for printability

  • Fixing common geometry issues (non-manifold edges, holes)

  • Exporting STL files correctly

  • Optional: slicing + preparing your model for printing
